ITINERARY

Day 1 – Saturday – Curitiba / Morretes

Distance –> 30Km / Altimetry +30m

We leave Curitiba for Serra do Mar in our support car. We will go down Serra do Mar on bike through the Atlantic Forest and we have 2 options, both ending at Anhaia Road. The first is the traditional, steep path, with dense vegetation, but a spacious road, one of the oldest paths between the coast and the first plateau where Curitiba is located. The second is going a little further on, a little less steep and a lot of fun, a path with more closed trails, but without a high degree of technical difficulty.

We will have approximately 2 km of total immersion in the Atlantic forest, humid, alive, and exuberant, at the end of the 2 km of trails we arrive at Anhaia Road, optionally taking the trail to Salto da Fortuna, a beautiful waterfall located on the Pinto River and which has a 2.5 km trail that can be accessed.

We go side by side with the river for the next 10 km, until arriving in Morretes, we will do a Guided Bike Tour through the center, and stop for lunch (not included).

After lunch accommodation and free afternoon.

Day 2 – Sunday – Portal da Graciosa / Caminho dos Jesuítas (Jesuits Path) / Descent from Graciosa Road / Antonina

Distance –> 48Km / Altimetry +445m

We start the day with a hearty coffee and drive up Graciosa Road in the support car to Portal da Graciosa, the entrance to the current road. From there, we drive to the entrance to the Jesuits Path, the only original section of the Caminho da Graciosa still preserved.

This path was opened in the pre-colonial period by the indigenous people, who climbed the plateau to collect pine nuts. It was later used by the Portuguese and also by the drovers.

The Jesuits Path is one of the oldest in Paraná, paved with stones placed by slaves and bordered by dense native forest.

We finish the Jesuits Path on Dom Pedro II Road, an old road in Graciosa, on which we will bike through an unpaved stretch that has been preserved, and which ends at the beginning of the descent of the Serra.

We will go down the Serra enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the famous Graciosa Road, seeing details that someone driving by car or van would never see. We will have contact with birds, waterfalls, and many beautiful bridges in a 12 km path of descent with interspersed stretches of asphalt and cobblestone, ending in Porto de Cima, where we will head to Antonina. There we will have lunch (not included).

After lunch, we will go to our accommodation and you will have a free afternoon.

Day 3 – Monday – Antonina / Guaraqueçaba

Distance –> 40Km / Altimetry +650m

On this day we will leave Antonina early towards Guaraqueçaba in our support car and travel 20 km of asphalt and 36 km of dirt road, entering the Guaraqueçaba Ecological Station, a protection area of 4,446 hectares, belonging to the Lagamar Mosaic, one of the protected areas most untouched of the Brazilian coast.

In Tagaçaba we start our pedal, which will have beautiful views of the mountains of Serra do Mar, rivers, a lot of Atlantic forest, and villages. We finish in Guaraqueçaba for lunch.

After lunch, we will go to our accommodation and you will have a free afternoon.

Day 4 – Tuesday – Guaraqueçaba / Paranaguá / Ilha do Mel

We leave at 07 am from Guaraqueçaba by boat to Paranaguá, where we will do a City Bike Tour through the historic center, have lunch and take the famous “Barca pra Ilha”, bound for Vila de Nova Brasília on Ilha do Mel. There are no cars on Ilha do Mel, only people and bicycles can circulate on the island.

Arrival and accommodation.

Day 5 – Wednesday – Ilha do Mel

After breakfast, we leave with a view of the Farol das Conchas, through Praia de Fora, crossing Praia Grande and we will visit the rustic fishing village of Canto da Vó Maria, from there we will take the Trilha do Belo, a trail that cuts through the of untouched vegetation of Nova Brasília, passing by the picturesque beach of Belo and continuing to the pier.

From there we cross the narrow strip of sand that divides the island in 2 and cycle to the Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres, build in 1770 by order of the King of Portugal Dom José I. Armed with 12 pieces of artillery and a small military detachment, it is in the northern part of the island, leaning against Morro da Baleia, guarding the entrance to Paranaguá bay.

We return to Nova Brasília and finish our ride along the beautiful beach of Farol das Conchas to Praia de Fora again.
